"Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset." Saint Francis De Sales

Régiment de la Reine

This is the last conversion of a Russian log house. It is part of a series of four log houses I received as a Christmas present from Todd and Lauren.

The squad of French Regulars standing out front is led by Captain Agenor Blanchet. They are waiting for the arrival of their Ojibwa allies. The two groups will then head south to Fort Carillon to reinforce Major General Louis-Joseph, Marquis de Montcalm.

It is July 1, 1758. There are about 4,000 French, Canadian Militia and probably Abenaki allies getting prepared to defend against the advancing British.

Major General James Abercromby led a much larger force of over 17,000. They consisted of British regulars, American auxiliaries, provincials and Iroquois Federation allies. Although the Iroquois Federation did not take part in the attack.

Osprey Publications has an excellent book available, Ticonderoga 1758.

The figures are Old Glory French Line Command and French Line Infantry Advancing.
