Painting Again, Thing 1 & Thing 2

**********
I'm back into painting. Pulled out my British encampment figures and started again.

More updates as I work on them.

The month of February is almost at an end. Let us not forget that American artist and illustrator Norman Rockwell was born this month.

My brother Tee, and his wife Karen were here for a couple of days.
Champagne is our choice of beverage when we get together and this gathering was no exception.
Dee prepared salmon for dinner which is an excellent choice for the "bubbly."

There is a small pond at the entrance-way of our community. For a few weeks we've been discussing wether they are real or not. The photo above is not of the swans. Access to the pond is limited. Anyway as we get into the month of March I plan on getting closer to take some pictures to verify if they are "real" or "make believe."

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

**********

"The Good ..."

"All five starters scored in double figures and Richmond men's basketball never trailed in a dominating 77-59 win over VCU Saturday evening in front of a sold out crowd at the Robins Center in the Lumber Liquidators Capital City Classic. The 18-point margin of victory tied the largest for the Spiders in their 85 all-time meetings vs VCU."

"Pondering is not merely thinking or daydreaming or simply observing."

Steve Givens has an interesting post on "pondering." Please take a couple of minutes to read it here.

"The Bad ..."

We had snow and freezing temperatures for Thursday. Fortunately there wasn't that much in Richmond. On Friday there were some school closings in the southern counties, but the county of Chesterfield had a delayed start for the schools.

There is no, "The Ugly ..."

Dee and I have been blessed because we were able to spend time with visiting family this week. The grandsons requested that she make sauce and macaroni, sauce and Stromboli and sauce and pizza while they are here. Yes, Dee is Italian and a terrific cook.

Everyone enjoyed our time together.

This is an incredible diorama of a 1918 Sturmpanzer A7V 563 Wotan. More over here.

Thank you to Paul's Bods.

This is something a little different, but well done.
Plus, if you're a fan of Clint Eastwood, it's even better.

Imagine, Vikings & Painting

**********

We watched the movie, "I Can Only Imagine," and enjoyed the actors, the music and the story line.

The cast included Dennis Quad as the father, Arthur Millard and J. Michael Finley as the son Bart Millard.

**********

I did some research on the Vikings 6th season and found this on Wikipedia.

"The sixth and final season of the historical drama television series Vikings premiered on December 4, 2019, on History in Canada.[1] ...'
The sixth season consists of a double order of twenty episodes, split into two parts of ten episodes; the second half will premiere in 2020.[1] The season mainly focuses on King Bjorn's reign over Kattegat and Ivar's adventures in Rus."

**********

I have not had the opportunity to watch any of the 2020 episodes but Paul's Bods has sparked my interest once again.

I haven't been working on any of my miniatures fro the last 4+ months. It's time to get back into painting. My schedule shows that I should be working on a British encampment from Perry Miniatures. After that is another unit of Highlanders.

A touch of Spring, a dragon story & stuff.

**********

Monday and Tuesday of this week we were teased with "spring like" weather. I was able to walk to the clubhouse in my shorts both days. It was nice enough that I could have done my workout outside.

Perhaps next time.

**********

Dragon tales are not forgotten. Shawn, over at "MacKenzie's Dragon's Nest" reposted a story entitled, "Because The Pleasure-Dragon Whistles."

It is an enjoyable dragon tale.

The Senate acquitted President Donald Trump Wednesday afternoon.
This doesn't necessarily mean that the Republicans and the Democrats will begin to act civil towards each other. Although It would be nice if they would now put forth their efforts to solidify our government.

I don't know how much money was spent towards the impeachment process. To me, it would have been better spent helping our country. My observation is that those in charge of our tax dollars have a difficult time budgeting themselves.

Just my $.02.

**********

Thursday weather reaches from west to east, snow and rain. The result was that on Friday morning we had some flooded roads, but were able to get to our destinations without any issues.

**********

Dee and I continue to settle in to our new home. Her choice of furniture, wall hangings and color coordinations are excellent. She has some more ideas as we go forward, making sure I don't get bored just sitting around.

We're heading out to our clubhouse for a morning breakfast gathering. An opportunity to meet new neighbors and share stories of where we moved from.
