Winter at OBX - Happy New Year

This morning Dee and I took a walk along the beach. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining and we enjoyed walking, talking and taking in God's beautiful world. Dee was taking pictures of everything, as she always does. Photography is her favorite hobby and she is an excellent photographer. Later we are heading to one of the lighthouses in Corolla for more walking and picture taking. Dave suggested this would be a perfect day to do this.

Yesterday while the ladies were shopping the guys headed down to the beach. It was late afternoon but the weather was still warm enough for light jackets and sweatshirts. I was given a tour of the rental houses that they have stayed at over the years. As we continued our walk through the area it was fun to fantasize about which homes we would like to purchase.

We spent the evening playing "Catch Phrase" and "Scatterories." The ladies dominated "Catch Phrase" so we went to teams on "Scatterories." Pam and Lou were the top team for this. We all celebrated the New Year with Dick Clark. Some things do not change.

Welcome to 2011 and may God continue to watch over all of us.

  1. what a great way to spend New Years, Paul! I love the beach, and OBX is one of my favorite spots. Truly the perfect place to reflect on the power and majesty of our Heavenly Father. God bless you and your family this new year...and God bless your musings!
